'Swachh Vidyalaya' - Campaign launched by Ministry of Human ResourcesDevelopment, Government of India
1. Following the announcement of Hon'ble Prime Minister on 15 August 2014 that all schools in the country should have toilets, with separate toilets for girls, the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Human Resources Development have launched a campaign "Swachh Vidyalaya" with the aim of providing toilets to all schools in India.
2. Individual/corporate institutions who are interested in building toilet blocks in any school will be encouraged to do so and will be allocated schools of their choice by the Ministry of Human Resource Development/State Governments. Private Sector companies are particularly encouraged to do the construction on their own. Contributors are encouraged to provide maintenance as well.
3. In addition to corporate institutions and companies, individuals, members of the Indian community/diaspora and Indian companies, who are interested to participate in ‘Swachh Vidyalaya’ and build toilet blocks in schools may get in direct contact with the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India (Nodal Officer: Dr. Nagesh Singh, Economic Adviser-Tel:0091-11-23381721, Email : firstname.lastname@example.org).
