World Sustainable Development Summit from October 5-8, 2016 at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi

Following the landmark Paris Agreement and the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals by the global community, the DSDS is evolving into the World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS) to carry forward a legacy of fifteen years. This endeavour aspires to raise the platform, attract greater talent, expertise, and devise ways; so that messages that are crafted at this platform are widely disseminated leading to constructive action.

In this context, the first edition of WSDS will be hosted from October 5-8, 2016 at the India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi focussing on the theme ‘Beyond 2015: People, Planet and Progress’. The theme, the Summit is addressing this year; assumes great significance in light of recent global developments. Never before in the history of the mankind has the nexus between ‘planet~ people ~ progress’ been as critical, as is the case today, given the changes that human activities are imposing on the earth's ecosystems. Changes, therefore, are essential and overdue. The Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Summit on either October 5 or 6, 2016.
