After last year's success of the Indian-week in the Gasometer the second edition is going to take place from 17th to 22nd May in Schaan Vaduz and Triesen, containing dance workshops, a movie programme, yoga classes as well as a sustainability conference and a speech regarding ecological tourism.
The India-week under the patronage of the Culture Minister Aurelia Frick and the Indian Ambassador, Smita Purushottam should show the different dimensions of India with a focus on the topic of sustainability, explained the organiser, Pankaj Agarwal at yesterday's press conference in the TAK. The cooperation partners of the event are the University ofLiechtenstein, the country museum, the TAK cinema and the Gasometer.
Indian dance drama
Already the opening event on 17th May in the TAK allows a view to the rich and variegated culture of India. The prominent dance couple Drs. Raja and Radha Reddy perform a Kuchipudi dance-show including dance, pantomime and theatre. Both gurus show their skills not only on the stage but also pass their knowledge on to dance enthusiasts in the afternoon-workshops taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday. In this way, a part of Indian culture should be brought toLiechtenstein, as Agarwal describes the idea behind the India-week.
Bollywood movies and yoga
"An India-week is not complete without any cinema, adds Agarwal.
Therefore the TAK cinema shows typical Indian Bollywood movies like "Dilewale" or "Siddhart" during 4 days. Moreover, the popular yoga lessons with Manisha Singhania are continued in the culture centre Gasometer in Triesen. The trained teacher of Yoga-rakshanam is specialised in therapeutic yoga, which boosts holistic health and prevents illnesses.
